Media Accreditation Policy
World News Media Congress 2026
Introduction
Media accreditation is required for journalists wishing to attend and cover the World News Media Congress, 1–3 June 2026 in Marseille.
Accreditation offers press access to professional media representatives reporting on the event in an editorial capacity.
All applications are subject to review by the WAN-IFRA Congress team. Approval is not automatic.
Eligibility
Professional journalists and editorial staff representing recognised news organisations or established editorial platforms can apply, including:
- Print, broadcast, and digital journalists covering the news media industry
- Photojournalists and broadcast media crews
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are covering the event for editorial publication purposes.
Freelance journalists, independent content creators, podcasters, documentary filmmakers, and influencers will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis if their work demonstrates consistent coverage of journalism, media policy, or related industries.
Application requirements
WAN-IFRA will need to verify an applicant’s eligibility and may ask for the following information:
- Full name and contact details
- Media organisation and position
- Links to recent articles, broadcasts, or published work (within the past 12 months)
- Letter of assignment from the media outlet (if applicable)
WAN-IFRA reserves the right to request additional information to verify an applicant’s eligibility.
Access for accredited media
Approved journalists will receive a media badge granting access to:
- All open congress sessions
- Media and press working areas
- Press materials and announcements
- Interview requests will be considered if submitted to the media liaison officer before the event.
Media badges are personal, non‑transferable, and must be visible while inside the event venue.
Accreditation must be approved in advance. Walk-in and on-site accreditation will not be available.
Filming, photography, and audio recording may be possible in certain sessions. Accredited media must follow instructions from event staff regarding access and permissions.
Accredited media are expected to comply with the event’s code of conduct, venue rules, and security procedures.
WAN-IFRA reserves the right to revoke media accreditation if the accreditation policy, event rules, or applicable laws are violated.
