Dave built The Washington Post’s TikTok account to 1.9 million followers over six years. Sophie Gourmelen  – President, Ebra Group, France – Played a key role in accelerating the title’s digital transformation and expanding its digital subscription base. At the Congress, she focused on “Inspiring Futures I”, alongside Anders Opdahl, Chief Executive Officer of Amedia, and Joseph Oughourlian, Chairman of Grupo PRISA.

Matthijs van de Peppel  – Group B2C Strategy Director, Mediahuis, Netherlands 

Mediahuis surpassed 1 million digital subscribers for the first time in 2025. He will unpack the strategy behind sustained growth: off-platform presence, smart paywalls, data-driven pricing, and an essential subscription model.

Solana Pyne  – Video Director, The New York Times, USA – Drives innovative video storytelling at The Times and will share how deep investment in video is paying off. → NYT director of video Solana Pyne and VP for product Jordan Vita met Press Gazette to talk video strategy.

Doug McCabe  – Chief Strategy Officer, The Guardian, UK – Leads the title’s strategic initiatives, global transformation projects, and partnerships with platforms and international collaborators. Jessica Davis  – Vice President, AI Product, USA TODAY Co., USA  – Transformed 260 Gannett newsrooms through digital optimisation and the strategic use of automation and AI, pioneering sustainable approaches that bring journalism into the future.

Gard Steiro  – Editor-in-Chief & CEO, VG – Verdens Gang, Norway  – Leads Norway’s leading digital media house, VG, reaching half the population daily and is at the forefront of rethinking the newsroom.

Madhav Chinnappa  – Reuters Institute Fellow & Media Consultant, UK  – Explores generative AI for news publishers and serves on Mediahuis’s Future Insights Board; recently advised Human Native AI. →  (Webinar recording) AI data licensing marketplaces, co-hosted with Ezra Eeman.

Joy Mayer  – Founder and Executive Director, Trusting News, USA  – Former newsroom leader and professor at the Missouri School of Journalism, Joy now trains journalists to build credibility and transparency, shaping practices that help news organisations earn public trust.
