Congress Venue: Palais du Pharo
Perched above the Mediterranean with breathtaking views, the Palais du Pharo is one of Marseille’s most iconic landmarks. Commissioned by Napoleon III for Empress Eugénie in 1858 and later gifted to the city, it has a rich history that spans imperial elegance and scientific discovery. Once home to Marseille’s school of medicine, the palace has been beautifully restored and, since 1997, has become a premier venue for international congresses, conventions, and conferences. Just a 15min walk from the Old Port, the building located on the hill top offers some of the best views of the Old Port.
Getting to Palais du Pharo:
From Marseille Provence Airport: The easiest option is the shuttle bus to Saint-Charles (25 min) then bus/metro as above (total ~1 hour). A direct taxi from the airport takes around 25 minutes.
From Marseille Saint-Charles train station: Take bus 82S or metro line 1 to Vieux-Port, then bus 82/83 (20–25 min). A taxi takes about 5–10 minutes.
From the Marseille city centre, the Old Port (Vieux-Port): 15 minutes’ walk.
After arrival, just a short stroll through the lush and beautiful Pharo Garden leads you to the venue entrance - a refreshing walk well worth taking.
